I was mowing the grass this evening and caught 2 Brown snakes (either midland or northern) while cutting the grass. They were about 3 feet apart in very high St. Augustine grass. It was about 10 minutes apart. One was male, the other female, both about 12 inches long. A few weeks ago, I caught another one in almost exactly the same location. I was surprised to find 3 different snakes near the middle of the yard in the high grass when there is a huge compost heap as well as lots of rocks and logs to hide under close by. I live in metro Atlanta, near Stone Mountain. ----- L. annulata Naturalistic vivarium with BSS
