The spaces between the bars of the cage are only wide enough to put my pinky through if I turn it sideways maybe a bit over 1/4th inch and are up and down not across, the toads are to big to get through, unless they figure out how to turn themselves sideways and slide out, the water in the "pond" is deep enough for them to swim but shallow enough that their heads are above the water even if they sit on the bottom, I also have rocks piled up on one side for them to crawl up and sit on, I would post a photo but my camera is not working.
