Sand is what I use; but for babies I use newspaper. I dont care how pretty my cages are; just how well they work. I ouls also adda shallow dish for water and change it daily or twice daily. I offer worms 24/7 and crix 5 timesweekly. If your frill is having problems catching food, then pinch the crix back legs off. Tehy will still move, but much slower.
