I use a 5 gallon bucket from walmart.

Fill it 3/4 full with hot water and put the brick in.

Next morning I scoop the stuff out with a colander, dig through it with my hands to let as much wate escape as possible, and then grab handfuls squeezing out as much water as possible - them dropping the squeezed fiber into a 41qt sterilite tub (long and short).

Once that is done, I set it out in the sun for a few hours, and it is dry enough. I then put the dried fiber into another 5 gallon bucket for storage.
