Yesterday our friend who was taking care of our redfoot reluctantly brought our baby home. Our friend was a basket case because the tortoise was attacked while she was taking care of her. Here are the brief facts:

- Female tortoise lives alone. 16 years old and healthy.
- She was attacked in late June by two rottweilers. A zoo in Calgary advised her to wash her three times a day and put Polysporin on her wounds. She was isolated from all other animals. She didn't seem to be too bothered by the wounds at the time.
- We found out about the accident and got her back yesterday. Our friend was almost suicidal over the accident. She was a basket case as she loves the tortoise more than anything.
- I thought all was well because it was over a month ago that the mauling occured and the poor little thing was eating well and moving around.

About an hour ago I noticed blood droplets on the scar tissue. Our vet is closed until Tuesday for the long weekend here in Canada.

Can somebody please help me? I just joined this forum and I don't know how to add a picture. I feel terrible about our poor tortoise and I was wondering what else I should do. Thank you.
Peter.
