Hi all, I've been a lurker here for a while, and I find the C.c.Paulsoni to be a really beautiful snake. I've worked with ball pythons previously, and have been considering getting a moderately sized constrictor for a pet. I'm also scouting for a new animal who can work with me as a reptile outreach educator for children. Ball pythons are excellent educational animals because they are so docile. If I work with a young Paulsoni, might it then be docile and relaxed as well, or are these guys 'look-but-don't-snuggle' snakes? Also, what type of texture are their keeled scales? I know they won't be the worn-leather soft of a Ball, but are they as rough as, say, a bearded dragon, or are they more in line with a large cornsnake?
Thanks a bunch!
