I have some kind of diurnal burrowing insectivore that was only identified as a "Solomon Islands Skink." She has a snout to vent length of over six inches, a tail length of about ten inches, and is brown with black limbs, a pink belly, red irises, and black tongue. She has faint light speckling all over the sides and back of her torso except for some solid brown crossbands that look darker due to the contrast. Her head is long and narrow and her earholes are very large.
She has good vision, but always doublechecks by flicking her tongue at food before she eats it. She's fast when she wants to be, but not not actually skittish. Often acts curious about things, in fact. Squeaks if upset though.
She's basked a couple of times, but mostly slithers around under the surface of the terrarium. Likes to rest with her head poking out under a plant.
She likes nightcrawlers, superworms, crickets, and giant roach nymphs, but she was raised for two years on cat food. I'm still using a little bit of it, just because of the strong smell, because I'm dish-training her. I have no idea if she should also be eating some fruit. She hasn't acted interested in any.
I'm tentatively guessing Eugongylus albofasciolatus.
