1. Do Anoles need a basking area if the temperature of their cage is adequate? My room is pretty warm most of the time (due to the snakes and geckos.) I deal mostly with nocturnal animals, so this is a slightly new question for me.

2. In a 29g tall aquarium, is it suitable for the top to be half glass, and half screen? Are these animals that need steady air flow and would do better with full screen?

3. If I had a male and two females in a heavily planted terrarium of that size, would over breeding still be a problem, or would the females take refuge? If the males are as big of horn dogs as i've heard, I simply won't purchase one.

4. Does anyone feed roaches? My B. Lateralis nymphs are little bigger than a "small" cricket, and I raise these myself. Also, are anoles well enough hunters that the prey can be left in the cage, or should prey items be removed after feeding intervals

Anole16:
1.)Yes. Anoles require a UVB light. I also prefer an undertank heater for nighttime when the basking light is off. 8-12 is sufficient but 10-12 (day light-night light) is not bad either.

2.)A full screen is not required but just make sure that air does flow through. i.e, nothing is blocking it or sitting on it.

3.)Anoles are not like guppies. Females and males will pair when the female is ready. The male will want to "do it" and tends to chase the females around quite a bit. It is quite a site seeing the dewlap and displays of the male to female "head bobbing" back and forth.

4.)Roaches can be fed along with crickets, wax worms, and wingless fruit flies. It is a good idea to dust the food everyone once in a while.
Just make sure that the prey is not bigger than the mouth of the predator.
