...again.
This happened once before. My White's leg got swollen and formed a hemorrhaging on the inner thigh that touches up against his belly as he sits. Last time, it was a single pocket that filled with pus, expanded, and began to open up. I soaked him in a mix of Melafix and Sulfathiazole/Calcium Sulfate and eased the pus out. He got better within a week.
This time, his leg is swelling much more defined, and his leg is literally splitting open on the side, and pus is coming out again. I've cleaned his cage and begun the same treatment, soaking him, then treating him with Bactine, followed by lightly sealing the wound with a triple antibiotic ointment (it seems to softly seal the wound without interfering between washings).
He's still eating and he's very active (which makes me feel uncomfortable with an open sore like that).
I'm not too worried, but I'm still walking carefully through this. Rather than take it lightly, I was wondering if anyone could offer more advice. I went to a doc and he literally charged my $45 for a saline solution, which is friggin' ridiculous.
Anyway... anyone have and advice or similar experiences?
