it has the venom close to a rattlesnake and they produce about 1/3 the amount of venom it takes to kill here is a link to a realy sever bite http://www.mib.ch/toxi/lit/p38738.html a person and they can have a tremendous fedding response and be unpredictable on the other hand they can tame down and make good captives if your carefull and dont let your gaurd down and treat the snake likes its a copperhead or cottonmout it deservers that kind of respect!! and a mangrove may actualy be better because they have less of a feeding response and more predictable and there agressive so you probaaly wont find it easy to let your gaurd down and i actualy havent kept etheir speces but have done many many many many months of reaserch and im about to aquare one or the other
