Posted by: enkidu at Thu Sep 6 23:16:52 2007 [ Report Abuse ] [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by enkidu ] Although there may be turtles in some of the rift lakes(such as Lake Malawi), I don't know of any that would make good terrarium inhabitants.Although they are not anything near native Map turtles and Blandings turtles can do well with large, aggressive cichlids, or with smaller fish as hatchlings. Some mud and musk turtles are weak enough swimmers to be kept with large cichlids, but do not trust them with anything that could in any way possibly fit in their mouths. Although it may be difficult to find a good native turtle a yellow musk turtle would look great in a large tank with a few large fish.
