Hi. Wow, forgot that I even posted a thread here.

Unfortunately, he perished. I ended up having to take my car to a mechanic and spent about $300 in labor to get it out. Needless to say, I had the story of the day. The snake got twisted around a part in my dashboard and overheated. I can offer a suggestion that I hope will lead you in the right direction:

1- Avoid using your air, a/c or heat. Advisors told me that heat or cold will draw the snake out, but it killed mine. Plus, the rotating fan is just another moving part that could also be a weapon. It's likely going to stay in your dashboard until you draw it out. Hopefully you live somewhere where you don't have to use your heater or a/c....

2. Snakes, even fast growing juvies, can go a loooong time without eating. A week after it happened bring a live crawly or pinky (so that you won't have to contend with 2 loose animals) with USED bedding (bec it has lots of mice smell) into your car in a wide shallow box with the lid open and wait, preferably while your car is parked and you're not in it but close by. Keep trying this every week. Depending on how hungry your snake is it will come out of a vent to feed. If nothing happens after about half an hour throw away the bedding and freeze the pinky for a later meal, then try with a fresh one and bedding the next time. I lost its sister in my new house as soon as I moved in a couple days after that happened (what luck, right) and considered it gone until I found her shedding behind a couch a MONTH later. I went to the pet store the next day, and while I was sprinkling the bedding in the hallway by that couch she appeared out of nowhere and was making a beeline for the crawly. She just turned 5 in February.

An alternative is to rip your dashboard open. It's faster of you have the cash and a brave mechanic. Good luck!
