Do you get any of those junk mails about how to enlarge your penis? I do, and I'm an old lady and don't even have one, and my only penis envy has ever been that I could stand up in the woods to pee rather than squatting if I had one. Or on the side of the road, I could pretend to be admiring the scenery standing up, instead of looking for a tall enough sage brush to squat behind out of sight. I think a lot of the snake thing may be more about how macho one is-- my snake is bigger and more venomous than yours, and so is my masculinity, buy extension, rather than keeping a snake for other purposes than to brag. Not everyone does this, but it seems to be something that occurs rather often. It's a man to man thing that women rarely appreciate, and neither do men with no problems about proving anything to other men.
