ABC 7 (Denver, Colorado) 04 October 07 BamBam Has Been Found
Parker, Colo.: BamBam the tortoise is back home after a few days on the run.
The 6 year old African Spurred Tortoise disappeared from the back yard of a home in the Stonegate subdivision in Parker Saturday after workers accidentally left the gate open.
That's when BamBam made a run for it.
BamBam's frantic owners searched the neighborhood, put up fliers, and asked for help from 7NEWS in alerting the public to be on the lookout for the 21-pound turtle.
On Wednesday, Debbie Turnipseed found BamBam in her back yard, hungry but none the worse for wear apparently.
"Someone had put him back in the yard with no note or phone call," said Turnipseed.
BamBam scarfed down almost an entire head of lettuce and lots of broccoli before taking a nap.
Turnipseed said she thinks someone saw a 7NEWS story on BamBam and returned him to her yard.
