Sounds to me as though they could be Juvenille Eyed Lizards (also known as Jewelled Lizards) (Lacerta Lepida)

If you're going to take them home, try and get a vivarium for each one, as males are very territorial, so if you put in two males without knowing, you could end up wiht only two lizards. If you can try and post pictures of them, i'd gladly help.
