I recently adopted a rescued box turtle. We live in NE Florida and she lives in an outdoor pen. We are plagued with many, many aggressive ants in Florida and her pen has become a hot spot for them. As soon as I set her food out they come up from under the brick paver we use as a dish. I don't think she's in real danger, but she seems to avoid the feeding area now and I wonder if she's been bitten too many times by fire ants. Is there a way to control their population w/out harming her?
