I empty the tank, let it dry, and scrape with a razor blade... Takes a lot of work, sometimes scratches the glass, and you have to have somewhere to put your turtle for a bit. You might be able to get some CLR or other cleaning product then dilute it quite a bit and just make sure to rinse the tank out VERY, VERY, VERY well before re-filling it... I personally don't use chemicals though for fear of killing the critters. You could also use spring water purchased from a grocery store to fill the tank and avoid the deposits all together but that might get expensive after a bit with all of the water changes and what not. I'd be interested to hear what other people have to say on the subject as well...
