Sorry, I didn't answer the question. The "Lily pads" are Hydrocotyl leucocephala. It pretty much just likes to float, where each leaf node puts out fine dangling roots. It sometimes puts out white ranunculus like blooms. A common name is Pennywort. It's supposedly greedy for nitrogen and the roots make good fish fry hides. My galacts in the other paludarium use it as a floaty toy when the go in the water after fruit flies, but they're too fat to actually sit on top of it like they do with the sturdier leaves that come up from the bottom. I think it will grow in a wide range of temperatures and either low or high lighting, so it's pretty versatile.
