I forwarded that link to the head of animal care at a place I intern a few days ago -- we occasionally have chytrid crop up and infect some of our exotic frogs and quite a few have died. The solution mentioned does indeed seem too good to be true and Dr. Kevin Wright (author of amphibian medicine bible) seemed skeptical when it was posted to the AZA amphibian listserv. That being said, however, it does seem promising. I can hardly wait for the professional paper on this finding to be published but unfortunately the review process sometimes takes over a year before these things make it to the journals. I can understand why they would release their findings early. Anyway, I think we're going to give it a shot the next time some of our frogs get the fungus -- if it's about to die anyway then there really isn't any harm in trying.
