most people keep them in a full land setup of coco fiber with a water dish, much easier to maintian. I started out with the 1/2 deal and quickly changed. For the most part, they love to burrow or sit in their water bowl. Keep their substrate moist. Some frogs are different, he may be feeling a little intimidated and so is always hiding. If he is a little guy, he should be in a smaller tank, maybe 5/10 gallons tops. They are usually voracious eaters and are not scared so give hime some time to settle in. heres a good messageboard to read up on..... Jon
