Didn't mean to sound crabby, but guess I did, but just accidentally. I never intend to seem sharp.

My grandparents had a lumbermill and 1500 acre ranch and timber in the hills of Mendicino County, California they purchased in 1942. They built their own house, but in the woods was a cabin that the original occupant had built of oak logs that had not been stripped of bark, many years before. The best guess at the time was that this had been built in the mid to a bit later 1800's or so. My cousin and I used it as a play house in the 1940's, when it had to have been nearly 100 years old. The logs still had bark on them with lichens. I went back in 2001 for a nostalgia trip and it was still there. Some of the bark was gone from the logs on the cabin, but not all. I wouldn't call an estimate of over 150 years, rapid deterioration.
