Smokey jungle frog?

I saw an episode of Jeff Corwin Experience in which he caught a massive frog that he found eating bats by a cave. It looked like a smokey jungle/mountain chicken frog, but was blue-purple and extremely muscular. Does anyone know what type of frog this could have been?
