Use a container big enough for the turtle to swim around besides room to bask. And don't worry about the skin shedding, that means he's growing! You'll eventually see a thin layer of the skutes on top of the shell peel also. Let them fall off on their own. And most pet stores these days have small freeze-dried turtle foods that mine love. Shrimp, mealworms, grasshoppers, crickets. Try stuff like that along with the reptomin pellets. Good luck and send us a picture someday.
