Posted by: otis07 at Sun Nov 18 17:10:34 2007 [ Report Abuse ] [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by otis07 ] many people are tempted to put very large plants in a newly made viv, and this can pose many problems. 1. smaller plants adapt better as they are still young, and they also "grow to the tank", i.e. creeping fig and moss will grow on top of wood and the background. 2. larger plants aren't as tolerant of change and will often go into shock. young ones will also, but they recover much faster. while trimming some plants like fig and moss works, with certain plants- broms and such it pretty much kills them. good luck with your tank and froggies!
