>>Help- my Wood turtle wont eat. I got him two weeks ago and He took a few nibbles but certainly not in front of me. He is supposedly captive bred but he seems really squemish- im not sure how much of this is natural- he is in a twenty long with about 7 inches of soil a pile of leaves and a large water bowel- my only problem is that the humidity has dropped below 60 because my misting system broke and I have to replace it. I put a call into the vet but he probably wont return to noon monday- I have tried bannanas, oranges and romaine- any iudeas?

He needs more than a water bowl, he needs water deep enough his shell would be under, but shallow enough to touch the floor and poke his head up to breathe.

I doubt he's captive bred, cos most of them are WC turtles;very few folks (incl me) breed these guys and my babies don't just go to anybody.
Since he is most likely WC, his gut is probably chock full of roundworms. His poops would be full of them if you see it.

post some photos of the enclosure.

I hope he's hiding under the leaves, cos that's normal for them. He needs TONS of heat, like 85-95 degrees, and a cooler side as well.

refer to my site on CA wood turtle care, just FYI: mine are the ornate version of the basical CA wood which has a brown shell, same care requirements.
