I have a pac-man frog named 'Weiser that we've had for about 8 months. Everything has been fine - he's been eating like crazy & growing like crazy. He's 2 1/2 inches square. Have been feeding him crickets that are gut-loaded with vitamins.
Everything was fine until cold weather set in. Our house is old (100 years or so) & drafty like a barn. I knew that frogs are sensitive to heat so I researched ideal temperatures for all my frogs on the Internet. Pac Mans were said to have an ideal range of 73 degrees to 80 degrees.
I bought the smallest under tank heater I could find, installed it on the bottom of a 10 gallon tank, added gravel, water & moss & monitored the temperature. There is a cool zone & a warm zone he can move to, to please himself. Everything seemed to be ideal except that I had moved 'Weiser to a larger tank. He stopped eating. I thought it was the tank change, unfamiliar surroundings, and I didn't worry.
That was 2 weeks ago. He's been soaking in his water dish for the past 4 days. Still not eating. Color is fine & he seems to be in no distress. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance,
Jeanette
