Box turtle or slider?

Hi, Is this a box turtle? It's hard to say from the
picture.

If this is a water turtle this cage and small water container
is completely unacceptable! Slider turtles need mostly
water with a dry basking area. Box turtles need a large
dry enclosure with a small water area for soaking. Hopefully
your friend know what kind of turtle it is

It's eye almost looks like either an injury or an infection.
Please ask this person to do some research and improve this
poor things care. Also I would recommend a vet visit.
