I wondered if anyone has encountered this problem...
My 6 year-old 55 gallon aquarium sprung a major leak. The silicon along the front edge had been almost totally pulled off. Upon closer inspection, the silicon looked chewed up (or clawed up). I think my 7 year-old female RES had been digging at it and perhaps chewing on it. Has anyone else had this problem?

I am thinking about switching to a fused seam (no silicon) acrylic tank, but I am worried the RES will scratch up the tank. I don't really want a Waterland tub or the like as I like to see my RES and she's spent her whole life watching me through the glass. Anyone have an acrylic tank? Are they easily scratched by RESs?

Any advice is appreciated!
