Posted by: otis07 at Thu Dec 13 19:05:09 2007 [ Report Abuse ] [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by otis07 ] a hood and a screen top both work, what they mean is that there has to be something preventing the newts from getting out, it doesn't really matter what it is. as far as species, don't put more than one specie per tank. most newts produce toxins, they all have different requirements, and there is always a risk of crossbreeding. alpine newts are pretty colorful and do well in groups. my personal favorite, just because of their personality, cycnops pyrrogaster, the japanese fire bellied newts. these guys are the hardiest newts ever and will eat ANYthing. they are friendly too and are a good starter newt. good luck and feel free to e-mail me with any questions at otis07_@hotmail.com [ Reply To This Message ] [ Subscribe to this Thread ] [ Show Entire Thread ] | ||
