Ok so i have a Texas horned lizard few days ago he stopped eating and went stiff, now we kinda forgot about hibernation soooo...two nights later we remember and run out to dig him up. it was cold and he was under for 1 1/2 days and 2 nights, when we got him out he was relaxed, now when snakes die their bellys show the decomp and they start to smell, same goes for normal lizards, but HL's have tough skin and nothing's see-through, he doesn't smell but I'm thinking that he was hibernating when we buried him and maybe he died while under, but it gets cold in the wild and they bury themselves, what happens if they have a cave-in, also we've had him inside and on sand and under a lamp for 2 days 1 night no smell but there is something coming out of his nose, somebody tell me WHAT IS HIBERNATION are they stiff are they relaxed is the thing out his nose some kind of parasite or what?! it's december 17 2007 8am PLEASE SOMEBODY FINDOUT!
