Wood Turtle Broomation

Can N. American Wood turtles broomate on land (in cypress mulch? He sometimes sits in his water dish but not really like he wants to broomatwe in it

Secondly, I can only get the temps down to the mid 50's can he safely broomate 'till March (he has good body weight) at these temps?
