I have lost many anoles through the years, Just last year I got back my male Motley Albino Corn back after roaming my house for 8 months. As far as the anoles they always seemed to turn up around planted areas of the house, Try moving the plant from under the bed and putting it in a well lit area of the room, Keep a close eye also on other house plants, even fake plants will harbor an anole.
