I've kept them in same conditions as my king snakes, with no hibernation, they like a deep substrate, as they like to burrow .
mine would accept live pinkies and chicken egg beaten up, out of a dish.
I found them easy going low stress animals.
I kept mine and handled them with no problems, but a FOAF was bitten quite badly by one, for the size of the snake that is.
Good luck finding a pair.
