I got my permits in NV a couple of years ago when I thought I was moving there. Not to terribly hard a process BUT, you can only have Heloderma horridum, Gilas are not allowed (both ssp.).
Permit was $100 as I recall. In CA. you can have suspectum but not cinctum (they are the same critter IMO but I have never tried to figure out their logic on that one), it is a pretty involved process and costs about $350 a year for the permit I believe. Again, H.horridum do not require a permit from CDFG, however you have to check with local laws and ordinances as to the legality of these animals in your city or county.

I like Gilas but compared to a full grown horridum they are just little pink and black gummy lizards...
