I haven't used acrylic caging myself, but I have done a lot of research on the matter. The biggest complaints that I have seen on them is that they scratch easy and depending on the amount of heat they are subjected too they can warp. But I am thinking that the warppage would only happen with thin acrylic and not the thicker ones. The scratching can be eliminated with careful handling. The scratches that occur can be buffed out with special products designed for acrylic. I think that dart frogs would be okay in acrylic because they don't have nails or rough scales to scratch the surface with. I think it would also be good because you do not need heat for the frogs. The heat that would be produced would be by the lights for the plants and I don't think that the lights would produce enough heat to warp a thicker piece of acrylic. The only discoloring I think that would happen would be from mineral build up in the water but if you use distilled water that shouldn't be problem because the minerals are removed from the water.
