I know how you feel, just lost my nile monitor yesturday. I put him outside in a large container of water, stood around for awhile to see if he can get out but he couldn't. I went inside a bit and came out and he was gone. You know, you should not give up just yet. Check a bit. Than just let him be, leave some bait or something. If destiny has it and someone up there has eyes for you, than you'll get it back. Just don't trip over the lost too much or one day you'll dwindle down to a lifeless nobody. Don't live on one thing alone. He's not gone until you let him leave your heart.

(My dog is really sick so I'm a bit emotional right now)
