ARAB TIMES (Kuwait) 12 January 08 Young Kuwaiti breeds cobras
Kuwait: Thirty-three-year-old Kuwaiti, Ayman Al-Khidir has a strange passion — he breeds cobras.
Speaking to Al-Anba daily, Ayman Al-Khidir — who has been aptly nicknamed Ayman Cobra by his friends and local animal breeders — said he has an outstanding collection of cobras which includes the smallest snake in the world and a very rare species of cobra. Ayman, who is the Chairman of Wild Life Team in Kuwait, said he breeds reptiles, especially snakes and displayed the smallest snake in the world measuring not more than 3cm.
“This tiny cobra is non-poisonous and lives in isolated places in houses and because of its small size, one needs a microscope to properly examine it,” he added.
Ayman’s other prized possession is a rare pink and yellow colored cobra which is known as ‘Albino.’
When asked about rumours that he drinks cobra poison, Ayman said, “yes, I do but I make sure that there are no cuts in my mouth.”
He also admitted that he has sustained many snake and scorpion bites “but luckily they all had weak poison.”
