Concret bord is expensive, nut it will last you forever. If possible I would concrete board then tile. Find tile at discounts on closeouts, make your on color or pattern scheme. But then again , I live in the states (Ohio). Not sure what costs to do this would be elsewhere.

Another option may be (not sure of the name) But it's the white panels they use in bathrooms. I belive its like 15 dollars a sheet (4x8). Its moisture proof.
