I'm so sorry for your loss. My second frog that I had for 16 months was a WTF and I'm still sad that it died a few months ago. I didn't happen to come by here until now (since before your first post) but reading it I would say the chances were very slim that it could have been treated successfully. Once frogs show serious symptoms treatment is difficult. You really have to be extremely diligent to notice that something is going wrong and some treatment has to be done. The useful information about medical treatments for frogs is scattered and I would say very few vets actually have enough experience treating them to be worth the expense they extract which us usually not practical or affordable. Keeping frogs is not all that easy, although you may do well for quite a while, disaster can strike suddenly. The WTFs are truly wonderful animals with strange and interesting twists to their behavior. You might want to poke around and get connected with some other forums that are somewhat more active like Talk to the Frog and Fauna Classifieds so that you will have resources ready if you need them. There are a lot of frogs in the pond that need good homes so I hope you will continue to take an interest in keeping them.
