From everything I have read about UVB light and blue tongues...it is unknown whether they need it or not. However it certainly doesn't hurt. I use UVB with my skinks, they haven't complained, are active during the day, eat well etc.

Your cage is a great size, though BTS don't need that much height, they are not really climbers...then again mine do try and climb the walls of their 5'x2'x18" cage time to time...the noise is annoying but it does keep their claws warn down...
