Armadillo Lizards

Ive seen pictures online of them were they looked very plated. And would grab the tail in the mouth and roll up. However when I see the ones for sale here on the classifieds the scales are more spikey then plated like the ones I saw pictures of. Is there more then one type of armadillo lizard?
