I recently bought two adult 12" redfoots from the dallas reptile show. I normally dont support buying wild caught tortoises but they looked so pathetic in a 1.5' x 1.5' tub. I have never owned a redfoot but know that their main need is humidity. Im not sure on the diet because I cant find a decent adult diet schedule for these guys on the internet. Lately I have just been feeding them leafy lettuce from the grocery store and the occasional strawberry. I recently gave them a warm bath and was shocked to see small white worms in the males poop. Is this something normal in a wild caught tortoise? Im hoping this is just a simple parasite that the vet can take care of? Im currently looking for a decent tortoise vet in the dallas area that wont charge me out the ying yang. What would be a decent good price for a check up on each of these guys? Also could I mixxe these 12" adults with my 4 juvenile sulcatas (9-12" in the back yard or no? Any tips on adult diets, these nasty worms, and mixing with sulcatas would be great! Thanks!
