It just goes to show the name "coastal" has nothing to do with the habitat type that phase prefers to live in. Just like the fact you can find black and white kings in northern Ca far away from any desert. Kingsnakes tend to be kind of rare in the type of habitat you showed me. I started off herping in similar habitat in Riverside and never found more than 3 a year in those spots. One year I set up a board line near the coast. The first time I flipped 4 kings there was a surprise to me. Now it's expected. lol And even when setting up boardlines near the coast, some spots are better than others. It even comes down to different soil types and types of vegetation they're set up in. Grassy areas are real nice. If I get some free time, I'll have to shoot up there. Maybe not because I have a bunch of new spots I really want to hit this spring. They'll probably take up a lot of my free time. There's always road cruising in the high desert though. If you pay for "all" the gas I'll be willing to take you along. LOL j/k Talk to you later. [ Reply To This Message ] [ Subscribe to this Thread ] [ Show Entire Thread ] | ||
