Mixing as needed is the best way as the nutritional elements are "activated" only when needed. (That is why there is a moisture pack in there; it isn't there only to prevent clumping.)
That being said, we were weaning a gecko from a baby food & CGD mixture onto straight CGD the best idea we found was this: mix up your mixture (you might want to let the CGD sit until thickened) spoon it onto parchment paper lined cookie sheets, place into freezer until solid, peel off paper and store in a zip top freezer bag. Remove pucks of food as needed and allow to come to room temp (about 20 mins worked for us) and serve. It isn't the best solution and I'm not sure how well it would work with CGD, but maybe you could prepare a week ahead of time with little loss. ----- 0.1 Albino Leo Gecko 0.1 Crested Gecko 1.0 Dear Boyfriend Departed: Harvey and Spock
