They're common year round on the central coast

I have two babies I hatched out last summer with minor skull defects (survivors of a C-section to remove eggs from a gravid fence lizard killed by one of my cats). They're subadult size now. I have them in with our sagebrush lizards and they've outstriped the sagebrush babies in terms of growth despite the fact that the sagebrushes are three months older and are almost as big as the adult sagebrushes. For some reason, they are much more skittish than the sagebrush lizards (even the wc adult pair). I'm thinking this may be inherent since rearing conditions for both them and the sagebrush have been identical.
