Hi,

Go ahead and start over. Read the directions very

carefully on start-up. You don't want to manually

fill the cannister. Just fill the intake tube. When

the top on the cannister is snapped into place, it should

begin to fill on its own. Prime the intake tube with

a glass or two of water(instructions). You should hear

the water starting to fill the cannister itself. Wait

the time per instructions (several minutes) and then

plug the unit in. The air should be expelled as the

unit begins to work.

Try this and if you are still having problems, let me

know. My husband generally takes care of the filter

and has not had any problems. I have been quite happy

with this filter.

I will check here periodically for any additional posts.

Good luck!

Linda
