Hi Adam. I honestly do not think there is too much of a real threat of being seriously envenomated by a T. dhara. For one, they are extremely placid and easy going. Second, they are relatively small (my adult female is just slightly over 3 feet) and have very small fangs that are capable of only delivering tiny doses of venom. I have seen both my male and female chew on small rodents for several minutes with very little effect so I unless you had one latched on and chewing on you for a long time, I doubt they could deliver enough venom to cause any damage. Take that for what it's worth, and I would still suggest handling them cautiously and with some light gloves just to be on the safe side.

The nice thing about the T. dharas is that they are proving fairly easy to keep and breed. They are very fun and interesting little snakes!
