Hi
Saw today a stout 2 foot black snake with a few not many yellow broken stripes looked like water snake as it swam right next to us while we fished should no fear .

It was swimming in shallows about 6 inches deep

I took pic of it with cell phone but have to figure out how to post it .

Was it a water snake of some type ?

I am in Florida and never saw solid black (very nice intense black) with yellow stripes before. The more snakes the better as far as I am concerned but this type snake never saw before. I know it was not any of the kingsnakes by the V shaped head but not drab colored like a cotton mouth.

thanks
