About three weeks ago I noticed that the smaller female had
the male by the head. This was likely a stern message from
her that she was not in the mood yet.

Yesterday around mid day I noticed the male stehlini beginning
to court with more vigor. Just to make sure incase anything
occurred, I put the camera within view of them. As I walked
by later to check on them I saw that the male had the female
by the neck as they slowly walked around the enclosure. A
few minutes later he made his move and was successful. Not
sure if this was their first time for the season but am thinking it could have been. Copulation lasted about 3 minutes. I'm sure
they'll hook up one or two times more in the next week.

I should see eggs in about a month or so. She usually lays right
at 31 days after first breeding. With any luck I should see some
egg pipping going on just shy of two months after that if all
goes well.

John
