Hi, I'm a british veterinary student and I went home to other weekend to visit my parents and discovered this wierd frog in the tank. They've had it for about 6months and it has not grown past about 1.5". I presumed it was a Dwarf ACF but it is an albino (no colouring apart from on the claws), has bulgy eyes and no webbing between the front toes.
This makes me think he's a norm ACF but that he hasn't grown. He also looks sick, possibly with dropsy. His abdomen is completely bloated, making him almost 1" wide! My plan was to put him in gradually stronger concentrations of salt water to see if that helped; then try increasing the temperature to about 30degrees in case it was trapped air and finally anti-biotics.
I'm no fish/amphibian expert and so have no idea if this is the best strategy. Also is this an ACF; once he's healthy will he suddenly increase in size or is the fact he is so small after 6m make it unlikely?
Cheers, Richard
